Nubuck has a soft, velvety touch and a short, even nap. Supple from the first wear, but with enough structure to hold its shape. A quieter alternative to smooth leather — casual enough for every day, comfortable enough to forget you're wearing it.
Nubuck is full-grain leather, sanded on the outer surface to raise a fine, close nap. It keeps the strength and character of the grain underneath, but the hand is softer and the finish matte rather than polished.
It needs no breaking in. Where a smooth calf strap can feel stiff for the first few weeks, nubuck is flexible from day one, yet holds its form rather than going slack. With wear it develops a subtle patina and takes on the shape of your wrist.
The result is a strap that dresses a watch down without dressing it badly — at home with a jacket or a t-shirt.
