Artisan Made, Here's our Process
1 - Selecting The Leather
It is during the first stage that we select the finest leather to craft your watch strap from, we ensure the best pattern but also the least blemishes from the natural hides
2 - Cutting The Leather
Here we cut a portion of the chosen leather that will be used to create your bespoke watch strap
3 - Skiving The Leather
This is a very crucial but delicate technique which allows us to achieve the correct leather thickness for your strap and its relative construction
4 - Reinforcing Your Strap
We use two important materials in reinforcing your strap. Inside we use Velodon which ensure your strap stays strong and does not stretch. Haas Zermatt for the lining to ensure a smooth & hypoallergenic contact on the skin
5 - Construction
During this stage we assemble the strap using high quality leather glue in preparation to then make the stitching holes with pricking irons
6 - Stitching
Our straps are all hand sewn using the traditional saddle stitching technique. We use largely french pricking irons for the most beautiful aesthetic finish
7 - Edge Sanding
Edges are sanded to ensure a smooth surface for the edge paint and to ensure the perfect shape
8 - Final Touches
Here we add the edge crease front and rear but also trim the edges for a tidy finish to the strap body
9 - Edge Painting
Three coats of edge paint are applied to the strap to ensure we protect the strap but also improve durability long term. The final aesthetic touch, and we are done - that's typically a total of a 3 hours process!
